Registration of Contractors or Corporation
 

If any of the contractors wants to bid for any of the PWD tender, contractor must register in the PWD.
Tender forms are issued to only those registered contractors and firms of approved by the PWD.

 
Period of Registration
 

Any registration of the contractor or firm in PWD shall be valid for a period of 5 years only.
All registration is reviewed on a fixed date at an interval of 5 years. Contractors desirous
of continuing registration shall have to apply for renewal in the prescribed form with a
renewal fee …..% of the fee deposited at the time of original registration and at least
three months in advance of the date fixed for review.

 
Classification
 

Contractors are classified according to their financial status and professional capability. Promotion from one class to another class is permissible if the contractor or firm meets the criteria of the other class and on payment of the difference in the registration fee. The different classes of contractors are
A3 to A5 -> for entire Chhattisgarh state
A1 & A2 -> Only for the respective zone
B -> Only for respective circle
C -> Only for respective division
D -> Only for respective division
Civil Engineer can directly register in ‘A1’ Class where as if the person is Diploma holder then He/She can register in ‘B’ Class directly. For E& M registration wire man license is required. This is exempted for those having Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering.

For registering a public limited company, the latest balance sheet of the company duly verified by a charted accountant may be accepted in lieu of cash deposit it the balance sheet discloses the company's sound financial capacity.


For getting the application form intended contractor or firm has to take money receipt by paying the specified amount from the sub divisional or divisional office. Based on this money receipt application is issued to the contractor or firm.



After getting the filled form from the contractor, this form shall be placed in front of the committee. Committee normally consists of 3 members depending on the where the registration takes place.

If it is in E-in-C office then
      E-in-C ->President
     Joint director ->Secretary
     Superintending Engineer ->Member

If it is the circle level then
     Superintending Engineer ->President
    Executive Engineer ->member committee
    Office Superintendent ->Secretary

This committee meets twice in a month on a pre defined date.

 

On the term end of registered contractor, only competent authority is empowered to release the FDR. Before releasing the FDR, No Objection Certificate (NOC), is prepared on that contrator or firm by the respective office or demanded from the other offices.
